Poems
For the music, the poem has rhymes but it contains an inconsistent rhyme scheme.Rhymes are found on the end of the lines.“Palasyo” is repeated for four times throughout the poem. “Palasyo” was the topic created in the poem. Has a dominant sound of “a” and “o”. “Hari and reyna” is also repeated. It pertains to the people living in the “Palasyo” or the castle and that what’s makes a “Palasyo”.
For the imagery, the dominant image shown in the poem was a sad kid looking through their devastated “palasyo” or castle. It was like a kid who believed in fantasy but then the fantasy fell out to reality. The kid was growing and looking back to the old castle. It was wrecked but the kid wants the castle to be built up again. The image created was in sorrow but is still hoping that maybe the castle would be rebuilt and every fallen piece would be back in its place again. The author used sense of sight in most of the lines and also sense of hearing in the lines, “Sa tahimik at masayang himig na naririnig ko” and “Ang taimtim na musika sa aking paghimbingm ay napalitan ng ingay na para akong nililibing.”. Similes are also present in the poem. The Palasyo creates a metaphoric meaning.

For the narrative, The point of view was owned by the kid. It is in the 1st person point of view.It narrated how everything has fallen into places, how the “Palasyo” was wrecked, how the songs in her sleep were changed into loud cries and how the happiness disappeared. The narrative in the 1st point of view narrated how the kid in the story felt. It showed the kid’s longing for happiness. Knowing that kids are full of hope; The kid in the story also hopes for the happy castle to be back in its place and the “Hari and reyna” or the King and Queen to be back in each other’s arms again.
For the rhetoric, “Palasyo” was a metaphor for family. It also said that “Hindi man ito ganoon kagara o kagarbo puno naman ito ng kasiyahan at kagalakan at may hari at reyna ditong nagmamahalan”, It meant that they might not be extremely wealthy but their family was very happy. There was a word “Bagyong mapinsala at mapanira” was also metaphorical. It might pertain to a problem that can be a person, thing or some serious change of events that eventually made a huge effect on the so called “palasyo” or the family.
For Music, the poem have repetition which are “imaheng”, “naglalarawan” and “gandang”. These words that are used as repetition means a lot to the poem, because it highlights every word that is needed to be emphasized. These words once meant that there once a perfect scenery that is being watched. Way back when she was still whole and alive. There were no rhyme scheme pattern in the poem.
The imagery that is shown is that the girl saw “someone” that looks so happy and contented with her life. She smiled at the scenery that is currently happening in front of her thinking how lucky she is that she was able to see the perfect image. However, the scene went blurred, all she saw was a fog that covers the image. When she finally take a step towards the picture, she got stuck in her feet, frozen and can’t move. That is when she saw herself, standing in front of a mirror, a mirror that is now broken. She easily absorbed the scenes that happened, it was herself back then when she’s still complete.
For narrative, the point of view that is used was in third person. However, on the last line, it suddenly changed as a First person point of view. The point of view affects the overall meaning of the poem, because the poem indicates a broken mirror, which is herself, and she doesn’t know that. All she knew was that it was just an image that she is seeing at that moment. At that point, the mirror was still fixed and still complete. But as the last paragraph happened, the mirror got broken and she saw herself. She is now broken.
For the rhetoric , The poem is actually a story a girl that saw herself in a mirror. At first, It was nice and pleasant but when time passed by the picture was getting blurry and she saw herself behind the fog that she was broken. Not to notice that the broken or the "Basag" is actually her. "Hamog" was also the said in the poem. The word "Hamog" means problems, struggles and conflicts that made the nice and pleasant image blurry. If the word was not present, the whole poem would be different."Basag na basag, at tila ba di na nakilala ang sarili" pertained that the mirror was at perfectly fine at first but when time passed by and the "hamog" came by, It made the mirror to be broken and not to notice the girl was getting devastated. She is seeing an image, a happy and full of colors in the image. She took a step forward towards the image, she is surprised that a fog suddenly block her way. And as the fog disappear, she is frozen in her feet, can’t move. She saw herself standing, and full of scars. She didn’t realize that she is the one that is in the image all the time. She can’t remember anything. All she know was that she is broken. So that is where she reminisce what happened in her life. Why did it changed and completely lost it colors

For the music, there were rhymes in the poem. The dominant sound in the poem is “n” and a. The rhymes in the poem made the rhyme scheme to be in a singsong pattern.”Di alam” was repeated for 3 times. It made the impact of not knowing something or being unsure of a thing.
For the imagery, the image created was a drunken young man that lost his way to his future. It was someone who was almost perfect but lost his track because of his struggles. He is sorry for everything because he lost his track. He was looking back to the memories and the things that his parents gave him but still he ended up wrecked.

For the Narrative, The point of view is in the first person. The speaker is the drunken young man. He started of looking back to his past. The man was reminiscing the past and everything that he had before. He was thankful for that but he was sorry for not giving his best. He’s considering himself as a failure with no direction in life. He did not know how to pick up his life to be back on the track. The narrative revolved on a guy who rebelled.

For the rhetoric, the poem meant the sudden changes in life. Having everything and instantly losing everything. One can be everything but can lose it in a snap just because of wrong doings. He knew everything that he did was wrong but he don’t know how to go back. He was stucked and can’t move in his place. He wants to get his life for the better but his vices is pulling him back.
For music, the words “Anong nangyari?” were repeated four times in this poem. Every stanza starts with these phrase because it serves as the main topic of how this poem goes. It implies to a circumstance between a relationship of two person that was once a perfect and happy intimacy of a couple. However, there is also a repetition of the word “sa” because it implies to a particular circumstance of what happened to the couple back when the day where they were still happily in love with each other. The repetition of these words were related to the title because it somehow highlights how this poem goes.

For imagery, it’s either a boy or a girl, because I intended not to clearly state if it is a “he” or a “she”, wherein he/she is all alone in a quiet place, thinking and reminiscing of the past. Thinking of what had happened why they ended up being apart while in fact, they were happy and contented with each other in the first place. However, the girl/boy is crying and you can really see in his/her face how hurt and broke he/she is. However, in the end, he/she just stood still and tried to be strong until the day comes that he/she can completely move on and forget all the pain it had caused him/her. If it will be related to rhetoric, it is somehow delivered with sadness, sorrow, and pain in his/her voice.

For narrative, the point of view used in this poem was in first person’s pov. However, it affects the overall meaning of the poem because I, the author, tried to fit myself in this poem, even though I don’t really feel this in real life, in order for this poem to be realistic and make the readers feel the feeling of being in this kind of situation. This poem, being in first person’s pov, made it a heart-felt one that the readers might really think or feel of how the character feel pain and sorrow from what happened to his/her past relationship. However, it serves as the key for the readers to understand this poem and its flow.

Lastly, for rhetoric, the story behind this poem is a couple wherein at the end of the day, they will just be apart because forever doesn’t exist within them. The girl/boy thought flashbacks of what they’ve done when they were still together and questioned what happened to those memories and circumstances they made and shared. However, at the end of his/her sufferings, he/she still managed to stay strong and tried to think of the future wherein he/she will finally move on from everything and all those happy memories will be forgotten or maybe not but will surely move on from it. This poem implies that the girl/boy was in pain but it will eventually fade at the right time wherein he/she is ready to let go all of the sorrow.
For music, “Mabubuo pa ba?” was repeated for 2 times in the poem. It implies to the theme of the poem, which is “broken”. The poem longs to ask “mabubuo pa ba” or will it be built again? It might be a metaphor for "will it be happy again?" or happiness. It has no definite rhyme scheme. The dominant sound is “a”.
For imagery, the boy/girl was thinking about what happened in the past. Reminiscing the times when he/she was helping his/her friends and realized that his/her friends let him/her down. Remembering that he sacrificed and gave up so many things just for the sake of the others. He/she thinks that his/her friends have already forgotten him/her. He/she also had nothing left for him because he gave a lot and left nothing for himself/herself.
For narrative, 1st person point of view was used in the poem. It affects the whole meaning of the poem because I want the poem to be realistic and to make the reader feel that they are facing this situation. Using 1st person POV can help the readers relate this poem in their lives and help them to analyze the deeper meaning of this poem.
For rhetoric, the poem is all about those old friends who forgot the importance of being there for each other, especially during the times that he/she badly needs their help. He/she was always there for them but when he/she was the one who needed help, they are not around and nowhere to be found.
